"Oliver the cat is a permanent occupant of the Richland library. He came 2 years ago in January on a cold icy night. He was thin and had a shoulder torn. We fed and cared for him and he has refused to leave. Patrons love to play with him and always request a look at Oliver before looking for a book. Oliver has his cat crossings between the books on the shelves but has been known to reach through and frighten a patron with a paw as they reach for a book. " Picture and story sent in by librarian Joyce Pfeifer.
