Shmi
Seaside, Oregon
Shmi was a feral cat that
just showed up at Raintree one day in the fall of 1999 with a little kitten.
They were named Shmi and Anakin, after the mother and son characters from
Star Wars I. It took a long time to be able to approach them, but finally
they got Shmi to come inside to have a second litter of babies. She is a great
mother to Bart and Sparky.
After the kittens were born, she was finally able to be picked up and held.
The people at the store also think Shmi may be Widget's mom or sister. Shmi
and her kittens shares Raintree with Ivan, Tibby,
and Widget.
