Gladstone, Oregon
Page is a famous kitty around
the city of Gladstone, Oregon. A local celebrity that has his own fan club,
he has been featured in several library plays, and draws about 100 kids each
year for his birthday party. He became part of the Gladstone Public Library
in 1995, when he and another cat were dropped off in the parking lot. The
other kitty, named Shadow, was adopted by a staff member, and with the city's
permission, Page became a permanent fixture in the library. He had the small
town of Gladstone worried in the summer of 1998 when he took off for a day
and a half because painters had come to work on the library and he hadn't
even been consulted!
