Nutmeg

In 1988, Petco decided that
since they were promoting adoption, they should adopt a cat themselves. They
went to the local animal shelter and chose a small kittten. They held a competition
to name her and "Nutmeg" won. She is a very patient kitty, and will
put up with hats and bonnets when she needs to. One time she got a bad tapeworm
they had difficulty getting rid of. She started tearing into the cat food
bags for the first time in her life. The owner thought it would be best to
let her go, but there was such an outcry from the customers, and so many letters
about it, that they let her stay. (She doesn't tear into the bags anymore
since she's gotten better.)
