John was brought to the Crows Nest in Victoria BC by a vet. The vet had been asking people if they knew anyone who wanted a three-legged cat. Some friends mentioned they knew the owners of the Crow's Nest Bed & Breakfast and thought they needed a "peg-legged" cat. John has been with them a long time now. He has trouble walking, but he's a great runner. He was born around 1982. He shares his place with Darcy and Cassidy.

Note: Long John Silver died among his family shortly after [Canadian] Thanksgiving (Oct 2003). He will be missed by many.
