Claire
Vashon Island, Washington
Claire visits the Bookmonger
every once in awhile, when there are no other kitties around. The Bookmonger,
on Vashon Island, usually has cats running around that you can adopt. But
the day we went to visit, Claire was there. She was born in 1993 and lived
with a lady on a houseboat for awhile. When the lady died, they were just
going to throw Claire overboard, until a nice neighbor came to her rescue.
Now Claire is fat and happy, living with one of the bookmonger employees,
and occasionally gracing the store with her presence.
